Live, televised awards shows don't often create goosebump-inducing moments. A lot of times, it's comedic actors maddening bits that performance (Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh giving the audience at The Golden Globes flu shots), and bits that don't (Maya Rudolph proposing to Amy Poehler). But in the same way as awards or tributes are planned in advance, the producers have the era to put together a winning reel. And in the same way as your topic is Jeff Bridges... with ease damn, you have pretension too much valuable footage to performance with.
And the Golden Globes knocked their praise to Jeff Bridges out of the park.
Jeff Bridges took to the stage upon Sunday night at the 2019 Golden Globes ceremony to take the annual Cecil B. DeMille award. And he had an incredible speech. You traditional everything less from Jeff Bridges? But right back that happened, the Globes producers put together an incredible sizzle reel of Bridges' career. It spanned decades.
Naturally, it lent some major focus to The huge Lebowski, where Jeff Bridges created -- in the same way as the encourage of Joel and Ethan Coen -- the role he'll for ever and a day be united with: The Dude.
But the montage showed off what an incredible career Jeff Bridges has had, in the same way as a staggering number of iconic roles he has brought to cartoon for a rabid audience. The reel included looks at such yet to be works as The Last picture performance (he looked in the same way as a baby!) and Heaven's read to his mega-successful hits in the same way as TRON, Starman, The fabulous Baker Boys (with his brother, Beau), and Seabiscuit.
Thankfully, they leaned into real Grit, because it's brilliant.
In his speech, Jeff Bridges thanks "the brothers," recognizing every of the love that he gets for in force in the same way as The Coen Brothers. though Bridges has made numerous incredible films -- as the montage reminded us, his performance upon insane Heart won him complex awards -- his collaborations in the same way as the Coens remain some of the actor's most beloved features.
Receiving the Cecil B. DeMille praise concerning means that Jeff Bridges is at the end of his career. But we know that can't be true. Jeff Bridges remains a beacon of vivacious who'll never go out. And he continues to shine, drawing us to the theater. Shine on, Jeff Bridges. Tag. We're every it.
