Back in tardy 2014, we first heard approximately the uncommon possibility that the dormant Men in Black franchise and the 21 jump Street franchise could get a crossover movie from Sony Pictures titled MIB23. Despite some signs that this mashup had a genuine unintended at happening, it never did and Men in Black moved on without the jump Street crew. correspondingly why did it drop through? Well, according to producer Walter Parkes, it conveniently didnt work, as he explained:
It was more of a jump Street movie, honestly. with those guys perform the Men in Black. But I wasnt amazed that we couldn't get truly there on the script because the two franchises have such categorically substitute tones. You know, jump Street kind of takes categorically classic, you know cop things and plays it categorically crazy and out there and broad. And we sort of recognize categorically uncommon situations, kind of cop science fiction situations, and try to perform it categorically straight. correspondingly it was categorically difficult to try and locate a declare that worked. But the theory of it was great.
Based on what Walter Parkes told CinemaBlend during our visit to the London set of Men in Black: International, the Men in Black/Jump Street crossover fell through kind of for the reasons it seemed with such an uncommon idea in the first place: the two franchises are too different. It might have initially sounded with an idea that was correspondingly crazy it just might work, but ultimately it died on the page.
As Walter Parkes said, the jump Street franchise is categorically goofy with silly characters in ridiculous situations. Although yet a comedy, the situations in Men in Black are loud within the world of the film. It might be a fine distinction, but there was apparently no way to create the two mesh together without losing part of what makes each perform on its own. Jonah Hill himself cited some of these concerns in the with and doubted if the crossover would get made.
By the sound of it MIB23 wouldnt have been a real crossover anyways. It would have been more of a jump Street film, which makes wisdom to a degree fixed idea that that was the more recent and prominent franchise at the time. Regardless, it didnt work. That vacillate to locate the right declare doomed the project and honestly it sounds with it was for the best.
The studio liked the idea and the concept categorically had potential, but if there was no way to create it perform and perform well, greater than before not to force it conveniently correspondingly you could capitalize on two post brands. The people committed on the project could have phoned it in and slapped the logo on it and wed all be saw the franchises should have stayed separate, but they ultimately came to that decision on their own.
Although MIB23 will go into the halls of Hollywoods weirdest and most engaging what-ifs, the franchises will continue to stir on cut off from one another. Sony is touching direct with a female-centric 21 jump Street spinoff movie. As for the Men in Black organization, its getting some extra blood and going global in F. Gary Grays Men in Black: International, starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.

We heard more about the actors' feelings for each character than details about what these famed heroes can actually do on the battlefield. It turns out Crystal Dynamics was saving that information for behind-closed-doors sessions at E3. I was lucky enough to sit in on the first session this morning. Here's a breakdown of what I saw.
