Big things are up in the DC outstretched Universe. We're currently gearing up for the respective releases of Aquaman and Shazam!, both of which will occur within the adjacent year, and later we have the release of wonder girl 1984. There's a lot of eagerness to see what Patty Jenkins can pull off subsequently her follow-up to the wreck hit original, and the first-look at the production of the sequel has whetted our appetites for one particular reason: Chris Pine is anyhow assist as Steve Trevor!
Now, subsequently wonder girl 1984's November 1, 2019 release date getting closer, we have arranged to dive into the ventilate of Steve Trevor and hash out how the beloved hero can compensation for the sequel. subsequently fittingly many venturesome possibilities on the table, let's start things off by addressing the fact that this might be a son or grandson of the man we proverb in the first film.
A Descendant Of Steve TrevorWhen the first image of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor dropped online, many fans were fast to voice their whole confusion more than the fact that he had seemingly survived the goings-on of the indigenous wonder Woman. However, some fans of the unchanging wonder girl storylines from the 1970s were fast to resign yourself to the possibility that this balance of Steve Trevor is a descendant of the man seen in the first film. Sure, he looks exactly subsequently the indigenous Steve Trevor, and that's not at every how genetics work, but bringing Steve Trevor Jr. or Steve Trevor III into the fold would be an excellent mannerism to tribute the Lynda Carter get older of wonder girl stories and permit Patty Jenkins to hug the inherent absurdity of the comic sticker album world.
Time TravelIf the year 1984 and get older travel quality subsequently natural fits for one another, that's because James Cameron's indigenous Terminator movie debuted that year. Going one step further, however, we need to announce the possibility that get older travel is anyhow responsible for the relic of Steve Trevor and his eventual start in this other era. The science fiction/fantasy trope has played an integral role in numerous unchanging DC stories more than the years, and subsequently a Flashpoint movie currently in spread subsequently Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley at the helm, we need to announce the possibility of Steve Trevor's relic having something to pull off subsequently the "time boom" caused by Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) subsequently he went assist to keep his mom from her untimely death.
Diana Saves Him From HadesThe wonder girl side of the DC outstretched Universe has shown tiny startle subsequently it comes to embracing the idea of mythology and mythical realms where gods and demons exist. The first wonder girl movie and Justice League both scratched the surface of that idea by showing off various elements of Themyscira, but there's next the determined possibility that we could eventually acquire a see at Hades (perhaps that's who Game of Thrones' Pedro Pascal is playing?) and the underworld as Patty Jenkins moves us into the film's sequel. If that's the case, later wonder girl 1984 could state that Steve actually did die in the first movie, but Diana (Gal Gadot) went to the underworld to rescue him and bring him assist to the home of the living.
The Waters In ThemysciraRemember that scene in the first wonder girl subsequently Steve Trevor bathes in the waters of Themyscira after Diana saves him in the ocean and they battle off the Germans? The water is not just regular water (which we see from the mannerism it glows), and the mystical flora and fauna of the liquid raises some questions roughly whether or not we proverb the key to Steve Trevor's relic in the first movie stop never even realized it at the time. Some fans have put even more tinfoil on their hats to recommend that the pools of water in Themyscira could next have some association to the Lazarus Pits used by Ra's Al Ghul more than in the Batman side of the DC lore, but as of right now, we have no authentic evidence to state that.
A HallucinationSteve Trevor's decision to sacrifice himself at the stop of the first wonder girl handily weighs on Diana Prince for decades after the stop of World engagement I. Even during the first-ever meeting of the Justice League, Diana attacks Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) for making interpretation roughly Steve's death. subsequently such emotional have an effect on weighing on her mind for fittingly many years, it's not too difficult to imagine a scenario in which Diana has begun to see Steve in her head, even subsequently he's not actually there. The hallucination another would be an easy mannerism to bring Pine assist (and it would parentage up subsequently other hallucinations seen in other DCEU movies), but Patty Jenkins will need to explain why Diana imagines Steve in 1980s clothing subsequently she does.
Another quality In DisguiseOf course, even though this other resign yourself to on Steve Trevor may see subsequently Steve Trevor, we pull off have to pay for the possibility that looks may be deceiving. That's right, we're referring to the fact that this quality might be a shapeshifter who has taken the form of Steve Trevor for reasons that aren't nevertheless determined to us. The DC lore is chock full of options to tug from, subsequently possibilities ranging from someone subsequently Martian Manhunter (or another devotee of the Martian race) to someone subsequently Clayface from the Batman corner of the DC lore. The fact that Steve has already been revealed to us means that wonder girl 1984 may unquestionably skillfully have even more twists and turns up its sleeves, fittingly a disguised hero or villain would create sense.
ResurrectionThe simplest possibility on this list (or the least complicated) would be the possibility that Steve Trevor merely has been resurrected through some form of science or magic. It's not unquestionably external the realm of possibility, as great quantity of other elements of the DCEU have handily presented us subsequently bizarre plan threads in the subsequently and told us to just go subsequently it. Moreover, fixed idea the fact that wonder girl 1984 has already revealed Steve Trevor's presence in the movie, it could be DC's mannerism of getting ahead of any potential spoiler leaks without unbearable roughly maintaining any secrets. Viewed through this lens, it's merely a concern of the folks at the back the movie saying, "Yes. He's back, and he's nevertheless alive. We will explain subsequently the full movie debuts. Stay tuned." Now we have to wait and see how they explain this.
