Warning: enormous SPOILERS ahead for Avengers: Infinity War! retrieve ahead at your own risk!
If you have seen Avengers: Infinity War, subsequently you already know the devastation that occurs. Thanos snaps his fingers, unleashes the full capacity of the Infinity Stones and wipes out half of all activity in the universe. The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy ranks have been depleted, which means there's room for further characters to enter the equation.
We already know that characters bearing in mind Hawkeye and Ant-Man are customary to play up, but that raises further questions about the side characters that we may see. on that note, and bearing in mind less than a year to go until Avengers 4's May 3, 2019 liberty date rolls around, we're diving into the lengthy Marvel Cinematic Universe roster to figure out which MCU characters could create bewilderment appearances in the utter Phase Three movie. We have pulled out 12 of the most likely candidates, hence let's acquire started bearing in mind one of the MCUs most beloved personalities.
Phil CoulsonOne of the men who started it all, Phil Coulson has been a fundamental element of the MCU ever past his first broadcast in Iron Man. The feel was seemingly killed in The Avengers, but as any aficionado of Marvel TV will tell you, he lives on as an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. We already know that Coulson will compensation to the silver screen side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe bordering year bearing in mind the 1990s-set Captain Marvel debuts in March, and bearing in mind hence many substitute scheme threads coming to a head two months well along bearing in mind Avengers 4 debuts, it would seem to create perfect prudence to find the money for him a scene in the utter Phase Three movie. After all, bearing in mind Nick Fury and Maria Hill gone, Coulson is all we have left.
The DefendersThis one seems bearing in mind a long shot, but stay bearing in mind me. Earth's Mightiest Heroes took a enormous beating during the activities of Avengers: Infinity War, and a major antagonism took area in further York City. Even if the film side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe never acknowledges the existence of The Defenders heroes, the fact of the situation is that they nevertheless exist in this world. utter how desperate our heroes look at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it's hard to imagine that characters bearing in mind the deed capacity of Daredevil and Iron Fist or the raw capacity of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage wouldn't be welcomed into the fold. If ever there was a period to bridge the gap in the midst of film and TV, it's right now.
ValkyrieValkyrie was one of the coolest standout players during the activities of Thor: Ragnarok, but she was nowhere to be found bearing in mind Thanos attacked the Asgardian refugee vessel in Avengers: Infinity deed (the implication subconscious that he let the hard-drinking warrior live). Thor Odinson was nimble to bring her out of hiding during their last adventure, which wise saying her re-adopt her dated mantle as one of Asgard's greatest warriors. bearing in mind the single greatest threat ever to aim the universe looming, it seems analytical to admit that Thor could bearing in mind again bring her support to pad the ranks of The Avengers and build up other capacity performer to the roster. higher than that, most likely she will finally be nimble to coax Hulk out of Banner?
Peggy CarterPeggy Carter is an engaging feel to inspect because there are several substitute ways for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to bring her support in Avengers 4. One way would be for us to look nevertheless other hallucination, not unlike the one seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, other doable other would be for us to look Steve Rogers actually go support in period to be bearing in mind Peggy Carter in World deed II and acquire that dance that they talked about past he crashed Red Skull's aircraft into the Atlantic Ocean. bearing in mind the period rock in play, pretty much all is possible, which means death is not plenty to end Peggy from making her way support to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Laura BartonThere's a explanation why Hawkeye didn't battle nearby The Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War. He became a full-blown intimates man and was retired bearing in mind his wife and kids. Alas, we already know that Avengers 4 is going to look Hawkeye compensation to battle (possibly below the proclaim Ronin this period around), which means something will likely have to happen to his intimates in order for him to pick up his trusty bow bearing in mind more. We don't necessarily know if this means Laura Barton or one of his kids will die, but we generally expect to look something painful happen on the Barton intimates homestead, which will ultimately pave the way for Clint to arrive back.
Hank PymThe Ant-Man corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will agreed receive more exploration now that Avengers: Infinity deed is in the rearview. Scott Lang and wish Van Dyne will finally team up in Ant-Man and The Wasp well along this summer, and the assumption is that they will subsequently go on to connect The Avengers in Avengers 4. However, if Hank Pym survives the activities of Ant-Man and The Wasp, it would seem reasonably priced to admit that he may play up to lend a hand as well. Remember, Hank isn't just a former hero in his own right; he's then a smart scientist bearing in mind right of entry to the Quantum Realm. He could be an invaluable assistant in the coming battle.
NakiaDespite the fact that hence much of Avengers: Infinity deed takes area on Black Panther's house turf, there are a few key Wakandan members of the Black Panther cast missing. Chief in the course of these absent characters is Nakia, who is nowhere to be found bearing in mind the Black Order and the Outriders play up to lay siege to the African nation -- which makes a clear degree of sense, as she's a globetrotting spy. That said, despite the logic at the back her absence, Nakia is a fundamental element of the Black Panther lore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it by yourself seems analytical for Avengers 4 to potentially locate a way to swell her and pact bearing in mind the fallout of T'Challa's untimely demise.
Happy HoganAnother Phase One mainstay, glad Hogan has featured prominently in all stage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe hence far, albeit bearing in mind a reduced role as the years have bearing in mind by, as Jon Favreau has become increasingly perky elsewhere. Happy's most recent broadcast in the MCU came last year bearing in mind he took on the role of Peter Parker's "internship" advisor in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and it's clear that he has continued to play nearby bearing in mind Tony and Pepper for years, bearing in mind their friendship dating as far afield support as the 1990s. Avengers 4 represents the culmination of a lot of substitute storylines, and it would by yourself seem fitting for the MCU to bring support glad for other drying to circular out his arc.
SifThe Asgardian ranks have been seriously depleted higher than the course of the last few years, bearing in mind woman Sif standing out as one of the clear causalities of war. The feel was nowhere to be seen during the activities of Thor: Ragnarok (despite the deaths of the on fire of Thor's friends) and the Russos recently came out and avowed that she was one of the beings erased from existence at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. That said, it's generally customary that some of the people killed by Thanos at the end of Avengers: Infinity deed will return, and woman Sif seems bearing in mind a feel who could be incredibly cooperative (not to quotation popular bearing in mind fans) if resurrected for the coming fight.
Everett RossLike many of the characters on this list, we nevertheless have no idea if Everett Ross survived the finger snap that evaporated half of all activity in the known universe. Nevertheless, if he did survive the activities of Avengers: Infinity War, subsequently it stands to explanation that he has officially gotten to play on cleaning up Thanos' mess and figuring out what happened. In many ways, Ross has arguably taken on the role past held by Phil Coulson in the earlier years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Black Panther feel could be a principal presidency liaison in the mission to rally the remaining Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy in preparation for the coming counterassault.
Dr. Helen ChoHelen Cho by yourself has one notable MCU broadcast below her belt, but her importance to the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe landscape cannot be overstated. Her broadcast in Avengers: Age of Ultron wise saying her actually create Vision even if below Ultron's control, and the film ends bearing in mind her relic after subconscious freed from the mind control. Helen is a smart scientist and one of Earth's most proficient minds, which could create her a key ally as the Phase Three bank account builds to a climax. higher than that, if there's any inadvertent that Vision could arrive back, she's probably one of the few people that Earth's Mightiest Heroes could aim to in order to create that a reality.
May ParkerLastly, we circular out our list of MCU characters who could appear in Avengers 4 bearing in mind one of the most painful of the bunch: May Parker. Peter Parker's loving aunt by yourself recently found out about his status as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and if she survived Thanos' finger snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, subsequently she's going to bewilderment why Peter didn't arrive house from university bearing in mind people started to fade away. She already has great quantity of excuses to distrust and detest Tony Stark (enabling a teenager superhero that you're trying to guard will reach that), hence something tells us that there's great quantity of interim for Marvel to mine by exploring how May will react to Peter's "death."
