With filming having not still started on the unadulterated episode of the supplementary Star Wars trilogy, we have little idea where the supplementary movie will go. The Last Jedi amazed a lot of people, for good and ill, and that means that predicting what will happen with Episode IX is likely a fool's errand. Having said that, the one thing we attain know about the unadulterated part of this trilogy tells us all we may compulsion to know to guess how the supplementary film will open. It will probably right to use with a funeral: the funeral of General Leia Organa.
One habit or another, we know that the loss of Carrie Fisher will compulsion to be dealt with in the story. She completed her decree on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but passed away past whatever could be finished with Episode IX. though Carrie Fisher is gone, General Leia is live on board the Millennium Falcon with what remains of the Resistance at the end of The Last Jedi. There are numerous ways this could be handled, but launch the film with the funeral allows for the savings account to agreement with what it needs to and have the funds for the audience the catharsis it will compulsion past the burning of the movie gets going.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opened meer moments after The Force Awakens had ended, but that was an strange concern for the franchise. We're used to seeing years pass surrounded by episodes. In these gaps, though perhaps nothing major has taken area in the grander story, a good agreement has misused for the characters. The rebels have been on the run, the Clone Wars have raged across the galaxy, etc. I would expect that Episode IX will go encourage to this practice and start several years after The Last Jedi. The launch crawl will tell us that the savings account of how Luke Skywalker's fight with Kylo Ren has inspired many throughout the galaxy. This has, in turn, led to a resurgence of hold for the Resistance. However, nothing has associated consequently many people as with they came together to pay their respects to a lost friend.
Star Wars: Episode IX could take Leia away during this gap surrounded by the films, literally writing off her death in the launch crawl. Alternatively, it could look her die off-screen at some reduction in the film. Or perhaps she could even survive the film, but spend the entire savings account away from the main decree for some reason. The misery is that any of these solutions would environment anticlimactic. There needs to be a moment where the audience gets to tell goodbye. It's something they need. If you don't attain it at the start of the film, the fans will spend the entire movie distracted waiting for what they know is coming to finally happen.
By making Leia's funeral the launch scene, Star Wars Episode IX will agreement with this unfortunate necessity early, which means the listeners will be ready to concern on with it has happened. In addition, it has the potential to warfare as a unique catalyst for the action. Recent rumors have indicated that Billy Dee Williams will make his recompense as Lando Calrissian in Episode IX, and what better habit to bring Lando encourage into the savings account than by making him one of the people attending the funeral? Whether Williams' recompense is a cameo or a significant supporting role is unclear, but either way, if Lando is alive, would he miss Leia's funeral?
Exactly how Leia dies could after that be of importance to the greater story. Perhaps she died at the hands of a supplementary First Order weapon, because there will probably be a supplementary First Order weapon. maybe she was killed in a fight that will have supplementary repercussions for the characters in the film. It's after that attainable (and it's the method that I would prefer) that Leia clearly dies of natural causes after spending her animatronics warfare for freedom in the galaxy. The fact that she passed away past seeing that freedom essentially happen could be a major motivating factor for our younger generation of heroes to make certain that her purpose becomes a reality.
I can't start to guess where Star Wars: Episode IX will go as a savings account or what will happen to various characters along the way. However, the audience will promenade into the theater wondering how one particular environment will be handled, consequently it unaccompanied makes desirability that it be the first order of thing after that launch text fades away.

"Justice League" is an honorable example of how to work in that mode with skill and a poker face. The inevitable return of Superman is powerful partly because Snyder and company established that his death plunged the world into a haze of despair, superstition, reactionary politics, and revolutionary-flavored violent crime.
