The last live-action Highlander film was the 2007 TV movie Highlander: The Source, and in the mature past then, the series has been in a constant state of flux, following directors and stars coming and going for a potential reboot, but nothing ever essentially coalescing. But following an immortal who endures consequently long as he's not decapitated, the Highlander reboot is not yet dead, and its head remains firmly in area atop its neck. In fact, the long-awaited reboot of the franchise is finally taking a big step forward, as screenwriter Ryan Condal has delivered a script for the film to Lionsgate.
This is big news for a film that has been in some stage of improvement past 2008. put up to in 2016, John Wick helmer Chad Stahelski came aboard to deal with the Highlander project, consequently now following a script and a director locked in, perhaps this concern will finally get moving. According to Deadline, Lionsgate is certainly glad following Ryan Condal's script and are vibes pre-production to start in October. The relation for the reboot is unsurprisingly creature set taking place to allow for potential sequels, following a feasible trilogy in mind. For those odd following Ryan Condal's work, he was one of the writers on the upcoming Dwayne Johnson film Rampage, and he is the co-creator, giving out producer and showrunner of USA's alien pursuit series, Colony.
With pre-production set to start vanguard this year, hopefully casting will ramp taking place past too long. higher than this film's long saga to the screen, everyone from Ryan Reynolds to Tom Cruise has been attached in one gift or another. A few years back, it was reported that the man behind Drax the Destroyer, Dave Bautista, would be taking on the villainous role of The Kurgan in the film but it is confusing if that is yet the case. If the Highlander reboot does utility as a remake of the native 1986 B-movie and retell the relation of Connor MacLeod, hopefully it will complete consequently in a pretentiousness that feels roomy and revitalizes the franchise. Personally I was always a augmented enthusiast of Duncan MacLeod from the TV series, but you know, interchange strokes.
I'm excited to look what the raptness of Chad Stahelski's giving out and Ryan Condal's script can complete for the Highlander franchise, which feels following it has never essentially lived taking place to its potential. Ryan Condal's accomplishment Colony is a complex associates temporary that serves as a compelling allegory to issues of terrorism and occupation, and Chad Stahelski has past spoken practically this creature John Wick following swords. consequently following Stahelski's sleek accomplishment paired following a great script, this reboot has the potential to essentially praise this franchise above its origins. The Highlander mythology is ripe for a terrible take, and we don't get nearly enough sword-fighting in movies. I don't know what the nostalgia level is for Highlander, but a battle of immortals who tug swords seemingly out of nowhere should have lovely universal appeal, just consequently long as Queen is yet featured heavily on the soundtrack.
We'll keep you updated as soon as we listen more on the Highlander reboot and for every the latest on why keeping your head attached is the everyday to a long life, stay tuned to CinemaBlend.

I was excited to see it. It looked funny, but of course the few good parts are what you see in the preview. The new Grinch movie doesn't compare at all to the old Jim Carey version.
