The DC live-action universe had a bumpy begin to its vibrancy on the huge screen, although Warner Bros. seems to have course corrected by environment crossovers aside for director-driven projects later than Shazam! and Aquaman. The adjacent installment in the franchise is Cathy Yan's plants of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which will bring Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn back up to theaters later than her debut in Suicide Squad.
Birds of Prey looks later than it's going to be a unquestionably substitute comic record adaptation, putting a cast women in the forefront, both in tummy of the camera and behind the scenes. This point of view should correct how Harley Quinn is handled, and according to Margot Robbie, that includes her costumes. The 28 year-old actress recently explained this pivot, saying:
Thats what happens later than you have a female producer, director, writer. Yeah, its unquestionably less male gazey.
While still having Harley's wild style and comic record inspiration, it looks later than her aerate in plants of Prey will be a step away from how she was introduced to moviegoers in Suicide Squad. Robbie made a strong first comport yourself in the role, although her clarification nearly the male gaze going on for her aerate create a great settlement of sense.
The environment Harley Quinn made her debut in the Batman: The perky Series, dressed going on in full harlequin costume and white makeup. And though that costume made a few brief cameos in Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie's environment ended going on rocking some warm pants, fish nets, and a tight shirt which was doused later than water throughout the mission. She looked killer and captured Harley's essence, but it looks later than the actress is more on fire nearly her character's further looks in plants of Prey.

David Ayer did appear to have some self-awareness nearly the male gaze in Suicide Squad. In fact, Harley literally put on the costume in tummy of a bureau of men who stared at her. It was a strong comedic inflection in the film's first act, and helped support who Harley Quinn was.
In her extremely anticipated compensation to the silver screen, Harley Quinn's environment is brute handled by a team of women. Cathy Yan is directing, later than writer Christina Hodson (Bumblebee) handling the script, and Margot Robbie producing the film next door to Sue Kroll. It's a movie starring women and made by women, and should hence have a substitute point of view on the shared universe.
Birds of Prey has a killer cast attached to it, later than Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, and Jurnee Smollett-Bell playing various femme fatales from Gotham City. The puzzling plan will have them collide later than Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, later than the women eventually teaming going on to resign yourself to beside Ewan McGregor's villainous Black Mask and Chris Messina's Victor Zsasz.
Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will arrive in theaters on February 7th, 2020. In the meantime, check out our 2019 pardon list to plan your adjacent trip to the movies.

They see how easy it is to rile fans of Zack Snyder up by talking smack about his movie, and they delight in stirring the pot.
