Earlier this week came the news that director S.J. Clarkson has moved upon from Star Trek 4 to forward and manufacture the Game of Thrones prequel series pilot, and that the former film has been shelved. That seemingly puts the superior of the Kelvin Timeline films unconditionally much going on in the air, but John Cho, who plays Sulu in the series, remains optimistic. Addressing the news, he said:
I unconditionally am down. To be honest, it's not going on right now as far-off as I know, but I just think it will happen. Somebody, at some point, we'll every acquire upon the thesame page and realize it. That's my belief-- most likely I'm instinctive optimistic.
In his notes to ET, John Cho customary that Star Trek 4 is not going on at the moment, but he is simply ready and friendly to agree to the helm similar to more should the thing change. And he thinks that it will. Despite the recent depressing news more or less the film instinctive shelved, the man who plays Lieutenant Sulu remains hopeful that that is merely a performing status, not a permanent one.
While things may seem bleak for the USS Enterprise upon the big screen at the moment, John Cho is optimistic that every of the disparate elements preventing Star Trek 4 will be worked out to create it happen. He mentions getting everyone upon the thesame page and that has been one of the issues similar to the film for a while.
After S.J. Clarkson was hired last April to be the franchise's first female director, news came in August that the fourth film may not add up Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth due to treaty talks falling through. The last film in the series, Star Trek Beyond, despite vital acclaim, didn't deed going on to expectations financially, and supposedly Paramount and Skydance Media wanted the two stars to agree to less child maintenance than their existing deals called for, leading to the impasse.
Star Trek 4 was customary to add up times travel and see Pine's James T. Kirk meeting his father George Kirk. And though you would think a fourth film could happen without Chris Hemsworth, whether a Star Trek movie in this series would deed without Chris Pine's Captain Kirk is much more going on for debate.
Fans and cast alike have been wondering previously 2016 similar to the adjacent Star Trek film would reach and things were looking going on for a brief times similar to the hiring of S.J. Clarkson. Now the one-two punch of the treaty settlement issues and the director disturbing upon to choice project cast a lot of doubt upon Star Trek 4.
Prior to this latest news, John Cho spoke more or less how vital Star Trek 4 is, both as a franchise that is an important portion of our culture as with ease as a pretension to recall actor Anton Yelchin, who tragically passed away just previously Star Trek on top of was released.
John Cho is just about unconditionally right that somebody at some reduction will create choice Star Trek movie, as the franchise has too much publish value for it to be otherwise. The question is whether or not it will be a continuation of the current series similar to the existing cast.
We also still don't know what, if anything, is going upon similar to the Star Trek film Quentin Tarantino pitched. Will that agree to the area of Star Trek 4, and if so, will it use the existing cast or be unconditionally new?
Those Trekkies looking for a repair in the performing can head on top of to the little screen where CBS every Access's Star Trek: Discovery premieres its second season upon January 17. Also, Patrick Stewart will be reprising his role as Jean-Luc Picard in a supplementary series also coming to the streaming abet superior this year.
